Mallig Plains Colleges, Inc. conducted a Thanksgiving Mass as part of the birthday celebration of Dr. Praxedes A. Ignacio, yesterday, July 21. The Mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Sherwin R. Abul, Parish Priest of St. Joseph "The Worker" Parish. Following the religious celebration, the institution also celebrated Nutrition Month with the theme, “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, ang Pangalagaan,” while honoring the birthday of Dr. Ignacio. The event brought together students, faculty, and staff to promote the importance of proper nutrition, environmental care, and community celebration.


The program began with a warm welcome address from Dr. Bonifacio N. De Guzman, followed by an inspirational message from Hon. Jose Philip F. Calderon. The celebration was further enriched by meaningful messages from distinguished guests, including Mr. Di-Op Guillermo, MPRBI Santiago Branch Manager; Dr. Arturo B. Nano, MPCI Vice President for Finance and Research Director; Dr. Esther Susan N. Perez-Mari, MScFM, MD, PhD, President of UCV, and Dr. Emilia E. Estudillo, Education Program Supervisor of DepEd Isabela, who served as the Keynote speaker in the said event. Their inspiring words encouraged the attendees and made the occasion more meaningful and memorable.


As part of the celebration, various activities were held for the students, including the Slogan Making Contest, Poster Making Contest, and Quiz Bee. These activities aimed to encourage students to showcase their creativity, expand their knowledge about nutrition, and actively participate in promoting the importance of a healthy lifestyle.


The celebration was filled with excitement as students enthusiastically participated in every activity, demonstrating their creativity, knowledge, and teamwork. Through these competitions, they gained a deeper understanding of the value of proper nutrition and environmental awareness. The event not only recognized the students' talents and skills but also strengthened the school's commitment to promoting health and encouraging a healthy lifestyle among its learners.


The Nutrition Month celebration served as a reminder that good nutrition is the foundation of a healthy body and mind. Through enjoyable activities, meaningful learning experiences, and teamwork, everyone was encouraged to make healthier choices and develop habits that lead to a more active and productive life. As one school community, let us continue promoting a healthy lifestyle and inspire one another to value proper nutrition every day.
