The Modern Young Educator’s Society (MYES) under the College of Teacher Education of Mallig Plains Colleges Inc. (MPCI), successfully held its Leadership Training and Seminar today, March 21, 2026 at the MPCI Library, with the theme: “Character-Driven Leaders for a Sustainable Tomorrow.”

The program began with an opening prayer led by Ms. Althea M. Apostol, VP for Documentation, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Ma'am Karen C. Managuelod, MYES adviser. A warm welcome was given by Dr. Methodia B. Lagadi, VP for Academic Affairs, reminding everyone, the importance of nurturing future leaders. The Statement of Purpose was delivered by Ms. Kristine Joy Mateo, MYES Secretary, highlighted the goal of the seminar, which is to guide young educators in becoming leaders who value character, responsibility, and service. The introduction of the guest speaker, Dr. Ariel S. Besa, was delivered by Ms. Princess Lara O. Dela Cruz, MYES President, before the session proper began.

Dr. Ariel S. Besa shared meaningful insights about leadership, encouraging participants to see it not only as a role but as a commitment to inspire and care for others. It was followed by workshops and group activities where participants worked together, shared ideas, and presented their outputs, making the learning experience richer and more engaging.

The program ended with closing remarks from Mr. Eric Tabonda, MYES Logistics, expressed his gratitude and reminded all participants to carry the lessons learned every day and apply them in their future endeavors. The program was smoothly guided by the Masters of Ceremonies, Mr. John Ceazar Nicolas, VP for Sports and Games, and Mr. Reymark Marayag, ensuring the program’s flow remained lively and organized.

This leadership training and seminar was a meaningful step in shaping leaders who will serve with integrity, inspire through action, and build a sustainable tomorrow.
